Meet Tom Tom
Tom Tom is a curious, kind-hearted, and wonderfully neurodivergent child who explores the world with huge imagination, deep feelings, and an endless appetite for discovery. Created by counsellor Tomass J Wood, he is here to show every reader that being different is never being wrong.

A friend who says it is okay to be you
Inspired by Tomass James Wood's own childhood, Tom Tom can be playful, impulsive, sensitive, and occasionally overwhelmed. For young children, he is a relatable companion who reassures them that their busy thoughts, deep routines, and passionate interests have meaning. For parents and educators, he offers a gentle window into what is truly happening beneath everyday behaviour.

Navigating big feelings and daily adventures
From chaotic school mornings and family outings to unexpected schedule changes and busy crowds, Tom Tom experiences the ordinary situations that can feel extraordinary inside a neurodivergent mind. His stories highlight what happens when emotions arrive much faster than words, guiding young readers through happiness, excitement, worry, and sensory overwhelm with empathy and warmth.

Learning with Brians, Waves, Circles, and Bridges
Tom Tom learns to understand himself using practical concepts: navigating big Waves, understanding his own mind, finding his Circles, and building supportive Bridges. When one path feels too steep or unfamiliar, Tom Tom shows children and grown-ups that we can always work together to build another Bridge forward into confidence and connection.
"Being different does not mean being wrong. Tom Tom helps children recognise their own big feelings, and helps grown-ups look beneath behaviour to see what a young mind truly needs."
